Receive and file Response to November 9, 2010 Board Directive regarding Office of the Performance Audit Director Report on Harbor Patrol. On November 9, 2010 in response to the Office of the Performance Audit Director Report on Harbor Patrol, a Board directive was issued to establish an ad hoc committee consisting of Supervisors Bates and Moorlach to work with the County Executive Office and the Orange County Sheriff’s Department to look for strategies to fund Harbor Patrol. The attached report is provided in response to the Board directive.

Public hearing and action on request by City of Dana Point to revise findings for the approval of the City of Dana Point LCP Amendment No. DPT-MAJ-1-10 (Dana Point Harbor Revitalization Plan (Implementation Plan Component as Modified by Commission on January 12, 2011 and Amended on March 29, 2011) to implement the recently approved (October 2009) Land Use Plan (LUP) amendment, replacing, in its entirety, the implementation sections in the Dana Point Specific Plan Local Coastal Program relevant to the Dana Point Harbor. Dana Point Boaters Association Dana Point Harbor Traffic Study #1:
This study counted vessels in motion throughout Dana Point Harbor’s inner channels. The goal was to document the types and numbers of watercraft currently using Dana Point Harbor.

The Association wants to reiterate its founding principles; that our harbor is a recreation jewel that is multi-faceted and complex. We must all work together to successfully deal with the sometimes very difficult trade offs that must be faced as we plan for the upcoming renovation. Collaboratively we will set a positive course for the next 50 years.
