Dana Point Boater, Thank you for taking the time to navigate to the official site of the Dana Point Boaters Association. This introductory page has been created to help the first time visitor get aquatinted with who we are, what we do, how we would like to help you and what you need to do to take full advantage of the Association. If you have any difficulties at any time please feel free to use the links at the bottom of the page and someone will get back to you. You can also call 949 289-8400 at any time. The Dana Point Boaters Association was created to represent the interests of all boaters that make use of the harbor. This includes folks who use human powered craft, families that use the launch ramp, boaters that store their boat in the Embarcadero, families that have slips in the East or West marinas or people that are on one of the several waiting lists. Read More. The Association hosts meetings once a quarter for members. To control costs, leverage each others skills, react quickly, solicit feedback, collect ideas and keep everyone informed we utilize a number of different electronic tools. In addition to our web site, which you have already discovered, we also send out emails. These fall into several different categories:
The very best way to support the association is by joining. You can do so by clicking here. Association membership not only shows your support for the Association and your fellow boaters it also gives you access to discounts at local and national businesses. Please consider joining. Together we can make our collective voices heard and acted upon. The Association has created a Yahoo Group on the internet. This Yahoo Group allows anyone to pose a question, create a survey, see research done by others, post files or links. This Group was created on October 10 th, 2006 and eventually lead to the creation of the DP Boaters Association. We encourage everyone to join the Yahoo Group as increases communications which is a very important element of a community. You can join by navigating to here. While it can sometimes be challenging to become a member of a Yahoo Group it is well worth the effort. Yahoo forces you to go through several steps to insure that SPAM is minimized. If you have any difficulties joining please call Bruce Heyman, 949-289-8400, and he will be happy to walk you through the process. The Association has created a comprehensive survey. While your board is exclusively made up of boaters we would never be so arrogant as to assume we know what you need or want. This survey will take 20 to 40 minutes but is vital to your board understanding how you, your family, and your crew want or do use your boat and our park harbor. Please take the survey and encourage other members of your family and crew to take the survey. Click here to take the survey. We also use this tool to survey our members on other topics from time to time. Lastly we ask your help. We are a grass roots organization and need your help to spread the word. Thus far we have been unsuccessful at obtaining contact information for all of the boaters who make use of the harbor. This leaves us with the press, emails, public speaking opportunities and most importantly you to contact other boaters. You know lots of other people that love and use our “Park with a Harbor.” Please pass along the information about our (your) association. A little effort on your part can have a huge impact on others in our boating community. Once you’ve joined the Association you will find links that allow you to forward the emails. Please encourage your friends and contacts to join. In closing we would like to say that we know everyone is incredibly busy and will have a hard time grabbing another cause and working it. We understand that and this is the reason that our Association was created. We endeavor to do as much of the work as possible and to prepare things for your digestion in as little time as possible. We are confident that when/if we, your board, burn-out there will be others to step in and take our place. If you are interested in helping more than just taking the survey, joining the Association, signing up for the Boaters Blast and joining the Yahoo Group the please call us, 949-289-8400 or email us at BruceHeyman@dpba.net. The Board of Directors would like to thank you for your time and your support.
